MarinaElizalde

Abstract painting by Marina Elizalde with architectural shapes in blue, red, pink and green
“My intuition guides my brush. I don’t choose the colors; they find me.”
Painting of concentric corridors and arches in pink, yellow, grey and violet

My starting point is always the city. I walk and pause over its details: the meeting of buildings, the sky reflected in windows, the solidity of asphalt, the light and shadow on street corners. Then I let those shapes and textures settle onto the canvas.

I paint what I see, but above all what I perceive, what I feel along that attentive walk. My intuition guides my brush. I don’t choose the colors; they find me. And so, in my own way, I move through the structure of the city with the sensitivity of pigment.
